Adventists Helping Spread Truth Online
We are Center for Online Evangelism
The only Seventh-day Adventist ministry solely dedicated to the online mission field of search engine seekers.
After recognizing a great need for Adventist churches, schools, and ministries to be properly and sufficiently represented online, Ed Wagner—our founder—created this organization in 2012. As a business owner in Oregon, Ed saw great improvement to his own company’s sales when they applied digital marketing principles.
Now, we set out to use these marketing methods to benefit the Adventist Church. The goal was (and still is) to bring more people to our churches and schools by making them more prominent and easy to find through online searches (Google).
We began working with various churches, schools, and ministries to help them improve their websites, online map listings, social media, and more.
For the first six years of operation, we focused primarily on local church and school websites, teaching them online best practices so they could be found more easily on Google searches.
During that time, we were able to help over 250 churches and schools improve their online presence. We also worked on commercial projects and various small- to mid-sized Adventist ministry websites.
Today, the Center for Online Evangelism works in partnership with denominational entities to help create, optimize, and promote Adventist online content so it can reach the millions of seekers in the online mission field. Our working relationship with the Seventh-day Adventist Church means we support the mission of the church.
In practice, this is defined in two ways:
- actively supporting and promoting the official doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- intentionally not contributing to controversial discussions about social issues, denominational beliefs, policies, or statements
We feel strongly that the Lord has given us a task to clarify the plain messages of the Seventh-day Adventist Church online. That way, the truth about Jesus and the Bible can reach the millions of seekers in the online mission field.
